Something to make you smile

I was going through my pictures and found this one of Harlee. I don't think I ever really looked at it before because tonight I realized how FUNNY it is!! I mean seriously, look at those big eyes, that crazy hair and her HORRIBLY messy face. I just love it and hope you do as well.

Some Ideas

I think in the near future me and my friend Michelle should do something fun! We haven't had a little get together in a while and I believe the time is overdue. Now I just have to figure out what we will be doing. I think maybe it will be watching some kind of movie somewhere because we both like that. Or maybe eating pie somewhere because you know we both like that. Except we will have to make sure Michelle takes her insulin or however that diabetes thing works. Most likely we will sit around talking into the wee hours of the night so maybe she is going to have to bring a change of cloths and her and Harlee and I could have a little sleep over. I'm pretty sure Harlee would like that. These are just some ideas I'm throwing out there. If any one has any more ideas please feel free to post them. I will be updating on the fun we have whatever it may be. :)

Introducing Her Royal Highness and Her new throne!!

All right, this will be my second post for the day, but I HAD to write about what happened tonight! So I have been just casually teaching Harlee about going "potty". Since she generally won't let me out of her sight even private moments aren't so private any more. Oh well, the perks of being a mom I suppose. But I have tried to make those times learning opportunities. So I explain that mommy is going "pee-pee" in the "potty" and so on. I have also tried to connect me going with her going. Like when I changer her diaper I say how she went pee-pee in her diaper like mommy goes pee-pee in the potty. (Trying to give you all enough detail without giving TOO MUCH detail.) So she has been showing interest for a while when it comes to the toilet. She actually says "pee-pee" and she has tried to help me a couple times, (uh, awkward even for a mommy) along with grabbing her diaper when, (I think) she has gone pee. So tonight we got her her very own potty. We got in out and put together and she sat on her little potty while I sat on mine. I was talking her through it just letting her get use to the feel and such. When I stood up, so did she and she went to shut the lid on hers when I did on mine, but she stopped and decided she wanted to sit back down. Jeremy had come to get a diaper back on her but he let her sit again. When she did I heard him say "Oh my gosh..." and turned to see a little stream flowing right into her little potty!! What!?!? Did that just happen? So Jeremy and I both cheered big for her and she loved it! She smiled and giggled and clapped with us. Then I showed her how to wipe. She wasn't so interested in that part. But you could just see in her little face that the whole experience was a good one for her. I seriously couldn't believe it. It was so cute and awesome and funny!! What a big girl! OK, that part is kind of sad, but I am so proud of her and how smart she is. I know not to expect it to keep being that easy, and that we still have a lot of work to do, but I'm just impressed that she has come this far already. So that is my story for tonight. I hope it was clean enough for everyone out there. I will continue to update on our progress with the potty. :)

So I had this really cute video of Harlee that I wanted to post but I let it upload for like two hours and it just wouldn't work. I guess if you want to see it you'll just have to come see it in person. I really don't have much to write about. I went to Women's conference last week with my friend Jamee and we had a blast together. It was so good to be able to just be friends and not worry about all the every day life stuff. Not that we don't love the everyday life stuff, it's just been a while since we got to relax and just have fun together like that. It was also an uplifting experience and I'm very glad I went.
Huh, let's see, I have a story about Harlee. The other day she went to play with Jeremy outside while I showered. As they were walking away from the porch I told her bye and she turned around and waved and said bye-bye then blew me a kiss. So cute but nothing new. Then I said "love you!" and she said "love you" back!!! I have been waiting for that day so long and it was so great. I haven't been able to get her to say it again, but I know she'll get it soon. She is such a hand full and makes messes everywhere she goes but she is such a light in my life. Every night we spend some time together just sitting and talking and playing before she goes to bed and it's the best part of the day. Other than that nothing new. Tavia is going to be calling on Mother's day and I am excited about that. I am just trying to figure out how to be there (my mom's house) and get back and spend enough time with Jeremy's mom also. I hope Whit gets to call early. I know this post is stupid, I'll post some pictures to try and make up for it. LOL

Jeremy and Harlee just chillaxin' together. She loves her daddy!

And this is Harlee playing in the dirt. One of her very favorite things to do!!

Happy happy birthday Bloggie dear!!!

Guess what all! Yesterday was officially one year that I have been blogging!! I love it. I love being able to share my life with my friends and record some of my history in a different way. Most anyone that knows me knows that I keep a journal. I have since my mom bough me one in second grade, (I think). I believe I have about 25 that are finished , one in the works and a couple that are for miscellaneous stuff. That makes ALMOST 30 journals over my lifetime. I love being able to look back and see the things that were going on and the way I was reacting. I love reading them with old friends and family and laugh about how silly we were. It is just something I love. And I will never stop writing in a journal. Nothing can compare to the sensation of gliding along a nice clean page with your favorite pen filling the lines with the essence of who you are. HOWEVER, I love blogging because I can add so much of the other things I love to my memory keeping. I can post pictures, and music and videos. These things are also priceless and go hand in hand with keeping a record of life. I wish you could do in a journal what you do on a computer, but until that day comes I will also not stop blogging. I want to say thank you to all the people who support me and read my silly, no real point to it, blog. I know it is not the most interesting thing. My life can get... regular. But is a regular that I love and love to share with the people I love. (I guess if there are any of you out there that I don't know who read this blog you should know that I appreciate you too. Just don't do anything crazy. K. Thanks.) I love words, life, reading, photographs, music, friends, family, creating, laughing, being uplifted and being appreciated. Blogging is all of those things wrapped up in one and I am so glad to be a part of it. So happy birthday blog. And thanks again too all of you for your support.
