The pas two nights Harlee has run a high fever. I am a basket case. The first night I called her doctor and he told me to bring her in first thing in the morning unless it got too high again and my "mommy instincts" told me to take her in sooner. By then I had gotten her temp back down to a low grade fever and so we took her in that morning. By the time we got there her temp was normal and he couldn't find anything obvious wrong. So we decided to come to my mom's house so I could spend a little time with the sisters before Whit leaves on her mission. I could tell Harlee still didn't feel very well but I knew she would like being with Grandma. Well, last night her fever came back. It was high again and this time I couldn't even get her to sleep well. Finally Grandma came in to help out. We took Harlee in my mom's room and of course Harlee wanted nothing to do with me. But we got some fluids in her and a cool rag on her skin to try and get her fever down. She finally started to drift off in my mom's arms but kept fighting it. Finally my mom laid down with her and she went right to sleep. I went back to bed and woke this morning to Harlee crying. My mom was giving her a bath. So, her fever is back down again but she still doesn't want anything to do with me and I'm grateful for my mom's nurturing spirit so my baby has someone that she will let take care of her. But I am full of nerves!! I'm sick to my stomach from being so worried about her. This is the first time she has had a fever like this. And my heart hurts for her because I know how NOT fun it is to be sick. poor girl!! So wish me luck! This new mommy is scared!!!

A long day
Today we laid Jeremy's Grandma Talbot to rest. It was a long day full of emotions and memories for his family. I was Sad to see this wonderful woman go but I believe it was a blessing. She was in the very early stages of Alzheimer's and i think everyone knows how bad that can get. So instead of losing her memory and her dignity she passed peacefully in her rocking recliner with all the grace of a lady. I was able to spend some one on one time with her a few years back at a reunion and she was so wonderful! She told me stories of her life and I enjoyed sitting and listening to this wise woman who had grown out of adversity. She will truly be missed but as always I am so thankful for The Plan of Salvation and the peace it brings us in knowing that she was reunited with loved ones on the other side just as her loved ones that are still on this earth will be reunited with her some day. We love you Grandma and look forward to the day when we will be able to enjoy your company once again.
